Description
Here is a beautiful 1924 oil painting by Russian American artist Peter
Alexander Ilyin. Ilyin escaped the revolution and made his home and studio in
San Francisco. This particular painting is custom framed and instead of the
usual matting, it is set in wood that has been beautifully engraved with
Chinese lanterns. Ilyin, as well as his brother Gleb were skilled woodworkers.
In back, the artist has written a message dated December 24th 1924. Asking
